Our Vision, Aims and Values

Our Vision

At Dandelions, we provide a warm and welcoming home from home environment welcoming all children. We recognise that each child is unique and that children learn and develop at their own pace. Through the expertise of our highly skilled and passionate practitioners, we are able to respond to the needs of each individual child and ensure that their needs are met, allowing them to be open to new learning opportunities.

We are aware that children need to feel safe and secure for their learning to start. This is where our keyperson approach together with our tailored settling in sessions work their magic. All children will have a dedicated keyperson, getting to know both the child and their family; being aware of the experiences they bring with them from home.

As a community pre-school, we wish to provide care to as many families in our local community as we can.  Providing children with the best early year’s life experiences can have an impact on their lifelong outcomes. It is of paramount importance that all children are given the best start in life.

At Dandelions, not one day is the same. However, what we can guarantee is that the children are happy and are learning whilst having fun.

Our vision is that everyone involved in Dandelions, is happy.

Our Aims

To provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment; allowing children to learn through play with each child feeling happy, safe and valued.

Through natural and real-life resources, our environment will inspire curiosity and evolve with the children’s interests and ideas.

To support and enhance children’s learning ‘in the moment’ we offer a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities. This means we do not plan all activities, we are led by the children’s interest and recognise teachable moments, where we will then support and enhance learning. We offer small group work tailored to meet the needs of each child.

To build positive relationships with our parents and carers; working together to enhance children’s learning and development. Recognising that parent’s and carers are the child’s first educator.

To recognise the uniqueness of every child and the experiences they currently have; being able to build on these and provide further experiences. We aim for children to be able to explore new thinking and build new knowledge and skills each and everyday

By the time children leave Dandelions our aim is to ensure they are resilient, confident, independent and have a positive attitude towards their future learning.

Our Values

For all children, their families and staff to be happy

For all children to be learning new skills and knowledge

For all children to show a caring and positive attitude to

everyone around them
